Prevent a Future Crisis

In order to prevent a future crisis it is important to reflect on the events that led to your crisis.  One major part of this process is identifying triggers or risks.  Making a list of environments, people, substances, work events, food, living alone, alcohol consumption, etc. is crucial to helping prevent a future crisis.  Many times a crisis is the result of many triggers coming together all at one time, a perfect storm.

To prevent this from happening, you can track the triggers or risks, and once you notice a few of them happening, this would be a good time to step back and reevaluate your circumstances and reach out for help from your support network.  Your support network can help you navigate through these triggers and risks and may be able to help you avoid a crisis by adjusting medication, allowing you time to rest, re-engaging you in your interests, helping you bring good thoughts back into your mind, and any other means of putting you back on the healthy track.
